is a program that mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to registered children (who must reside in the Beacon City School District) every month from birth up to their fifth birthday.

Each book is addressed to them, creating a special moment of discovery and fostering a lifelong love of reading. This program is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Howland Public Library and the United Way of Dutchess - Orange Region.

You can choose from English or bilingual English/Spanish options.

Register Your Child

Follow these simple steps to register your child:

Step 1: Check Eligibility

• Your child must be under five years of age.

• Your child must reside within the Beacon City School District. V

• Steps to Check Your Address

  • Open the Dutchess County ParcelAccess tool to verify your address is within the Beacon City School District. Dutchess County’s Parcel Access

  • Type your home address into the "Find a Parcel" search bar in the top-right corner.

  • Click on your specific property parcel on the map to view detailed property records.

  • Look at the district details listed for the property to see if the Beacon City School District is named.

Step 2: Gather Required Information

You’ll need the following information to complete the registration:

• Your child’s full name

• Your child’s date of birth

• Your full name

• Your mailing address

• Your email address

• Your phone number

Step 3: Complete Registration Form

1. Complete the form below. (English version pg. 1 & Spanish version pg. 2 - Fill Out One)

2. Click the blue CONTINUE button at the bottom of the form to begin registration.

3. Check your email for comfirmation that your application was received.
