The suspense is over. The results are finally here! The Friends of the Howland Public Library recently held a contest looking for a fresh design for the “Beacon Reads” T-shirt. In January, the Friends committee met to decide which illustration would be used. They received so many wonderful entries that it made it impossible to choose just one. After a lively debate and many sleepless nights, it was finally decided that Two is better than One. To make the decision easier the entries were divided into 2 categories, Adult and Youth.
We are pleased to announce the 2 winning designers of the Beacon Reads T-Shirt Contest. The winning designer in the Adult category is Maegan Dolan and in the Youth category the winner is Allen McKay. Congratulations to you both!
The T-Shirts will be printed by American Icon in Newburgh and will be available to purchase at Beacon Reads this spring.
We thank all the artists who submitted entries to the contest. We loved seeing all your creative ideas. We wish we could print them all!
All proceeds from Beacon Reads benefit Howland Public Library.
